Meet the Team

Highly praised within the field of modern calligraphy, Kirsten Burke are known for their vibrant, inventive lettering styles. They have worked for prestigious clients such as The Globe Theatre, Jo Malone, Rolls Royce, Estée Lauder, Waitrose, Harley Davidson and the BBC.

Kirsten Burke and Jill Hembling set up the company in 1997 and have established it as the leading contemporary calligraphy company in the UK. The key to their success is to offer 'stand out' lettering, coupled with friendly efficiency.  

Kirsten trained originally as a graphic designer, subsequently studying calligraphy at post-graduate level. One of only a handful of professional calligraphers, her work is unique, both in its diversity and its awareness of design as well as technique.

Jill has a vast and varied business management background. She has used this knowledge to build and grow the Kirsten Burke brand. It is Jill's energy and enthusiasm that drives the team to ensure that every job is met with the highest level of efficiency and professionalism.

Rebecca helps coordinate the extremely popular workshops. Kirsten Burke run their workshops from their amazing studio, in  West Sussex. The studio offers a relaxing, creative space for you to learn calligraphy. On top of this Kirsten Burke also offer calligraphy workshops at other locations such as prestigious private member clubs and their clients offices, as the workshops are used as team building exercises. 

Amanda looks after the online side of the business. Kirsten Burke now sell a vast array of products from original artwork, prints, mugs and their world famous greeting cards. Due to popular demand Kirsten Burke has now created the calligraphy starter kits so that you can learn calligraphy from the comfort of your own home. Not only are these sold here but  can be bought from Amazon, Ebay and Etsy.  New and exciting products also due to be launched in the near future.
